Introduction

📷 Welcome back to the vlog! Today, we are heading down to the farm in Montgomery County to collect all our trail cameras and evaluate our deer inventory. We will also be spraying antler growth on corn and setting up spy point cameras to monitor the wildlife. Stay tuned to see what kind of bucks are left on the property and get ready for some exciting shed hunting!

Collecting Trail Cameras

📷 The first task of the day is to collect all the trail cameras that we had set up throughout the season. We have two trail cameras with us, a five-point solar cam and a 5.4.10 cam. To ensure accurate results, we will take some cord and divide the corn into two different areas. This way, we can replace the trail cameras and determine the remaining bucks and if they are dropping their antlers. The goal is to get an indication of the deer population and track their behavior over the year.

Spraying Antler Growth on Corn

📷 To enhance the attraction of the corn for the deer, we will be spraying it with antler growth. We have brought along a four-ounce bottle of antler grow and a one-gallon hand pump sprayer. Mix the antler grow with water in the sprayer and evenly spray the corn with the mixture. The antler grow not only enhances the scent of the corn but also provides micronutrients that are beneficial for the deer. By using this method, we can increase the chances of attracting deer to the corn piles and get a better inventory of the remaining bucks.

Setting Up Spy Point Cameras

📷 Now that we have treated the corn with antler growth, it's time to set up the spy point cameras. We will be using two different types of spy point cameras for better coverage. The first one is the spy point solar cam, which is equipped with a solar panel that charges its internal battery. This camera does not require any external batteries and has excellent battery life. We will position it overlooking one of the corn piles to capture the deer activity.

📷 The second camera we will be using is the spy point force camera. This camera also has great battery life and features 42 LEDs for optimum night vision. We will place it on the other side of the property to get a comprehensive inventory of the deer population. Both cameras are easy to set up and provide high-quality images, making them ideal for wildlife monitoring.

Monitoring Deer Inventory

📷 After setting up the spy point cameras, we will give it some time to capture the deer activity in the area. It is essential to be patient and wait for at least a week or two to ensure we have gathered enough data. Once the monitoring period is complete, we will return to check the cameras and evaluate the deer inventory. This will give us valuable insights into the bucks that are still present on the property.

Evaluating the Results

📷 Once we have collected the data from the spy point cameras, it's time to evaluate the results. We will analyze the images and compare them to the ones captured throughout the spring and summer. This will help us determine if the same bucks are still present or if there have been any changes in the deer population. By assessing the results, we can make informed decisions for our future hunting and shed hunting plans.

Next Steps: Shed Hunting

📷 Shed hunting is an exciting activity that allows us to search for deer antlers that have been naturally shed. With the information gathered from the trail cameras and the evaluation of the deer inventory, we can start planning our shed hunting trips. Shed hunting not only provides a unique outdoor experience but also gives us valuable insights into the deer's health, age, and antler growth. Stay tuned for our shed hunting adventures!

Conclusion

📷 That wraps up our vlog for today. We have successfully collected our trail cameras, sprayed antler growth on corn, and set up spy point cameras for monitoring the deer inventory. Now, we wait patiently to see what kind of bucks are left on the property. Shed hunting season is just around the corner, and we can't wait to explore the woods in search of deer antlers.
